Pet Photography Services
Animals are reliable, many full of love, true in their affections, predictable in their actions, grateful and loyal. Difficult standards for people to live up to.
- Alfred A. Montapert
For many of us our pets are our family. We take selfies, snaps, videos and pics of our dogs, cats, and a wide array of pets everyday. What we don't have is a portrait our furry, feathered, or scaly beloved family member. This is where I come in, I specialize in taking those memorable portraits of your beloved pet. These are keepsakes of your love one that will last a life time and can be proudly displayed. My goal is to make memories and provide a tribute to your beloved family member.
First and foremost for any session that I do is the well being of your pet. It is important that they are happy and healthy. I do whatever I can to alleviate stress.
The Session:
My typical session is held in the studio and includes the following:
- Portrait Session Consultation - a meeting at the studio (or at your home) with you and your pet. This will allow your beloved family member (or members) to come and sniff around and get comfortable. We don't take any photographs at this time, this is just the "lets get to know each other" time. During this consultation I will ask you questions about your pet (or pets), what you are wanting to get our of the session, and give instructions on how to further prepare for the portrait session.
- The Portrait Session - They can be any length, but typically lasts 1 - 1 1/2 hrs. This time includes any time needed for your pet(s) to get settled in. My goal is to make this fun for everyone.
- The Viewing/Ordering Session - As the title suggests - this is where you get to see the results. We start with a slide show of the best images from your session. I will also make any suggestions for wall portraits, albums, etc. This is the time you will place your order.
Each of these sessions are about a week apart depending on schedules.
Sessions can be held outside of the studio aka "on location". "on location" could be a park, your home or other location. With the on location sessions there still will be a consultation and a Reveal that will be held at the studio or your home. When considering a location, think about how much control you have of your pet outside of a confined area and whether or not they can be off leash. Also consider if your pet (mainly dog) can ignore distractions (think squirrels) that might be at a location.
I do not post any galleries of your images until after the viewing session.

Your favorite images will be placed into a 4x5 Mini Leather Album or 4x4 Image Cube as part of this session. These session are a priority with me. Please contact me to discuss details and fees.

I believe strongly in prints such as wall art, albums, desk displays and keepsake boxes. Why Print? Here are a few of the reasons: Because there are moments you can't get back, but a print can make you feel them again; because you can touch and feel your memories; because prints are for today, tomorrow, and all the tomorrows after; because prints remind us what love really feels like..
"Social media has become a part of the everyday and part of the joy of that experience is the images that propel it. But another part of social media is the Flash in the Pan Effect: a sudden burst of excitement over an image and then the enjoyment of it fades as it falls off the algorithm. There’s seriously nothing like holding a physical print of your artwork in your hands, deciding where to place it in a home, and know your clients walk by it every day and enjoy. This week the girls talk about the power of physically printing your work, what it means to for kids to see pictures of themselves in the home, and so much more." - Kira Derryberry, Master Photographer, Cr., CPP
